One of my old friends flew up from Murac Cal. today. He is now a crew chief on a B-25 and is getting flying pay. He is one of the fellows I went thru Sheppard Field with. Says things arent so good down there, weather isnt so hot down there I missed chow tonight so I am going down to the civilian mess hall pretty soon and get something. Our darn mess hall wont feed us if we are a little late. Our mess sergeant is a punk, one of the fellows knocked him down in the mess hall yesterday because he was too wise. Our chow has been rotten lately but nothing to kick about too much. Love Johnny
