Saving...
January 17, 1944 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Have been busy pounding and sawing all day and am a little tired tonight, the change of work does it I guess. We are building some dandy boxes using half inch plywood which [illegible] can't get and two by fours. They don't stand {illegible] for the best of materials, costs a lot to get ready and move. Its been a fine day here warm enough to thaw quite a bit and real pleasant. Its the first one for over three weeks and welcome. Got a letter from you and one from the church today. Hope [Frieden?] gets the [stoker?] working okay very soon. It needs attention without a doubt wish there was a good [stoker?] man in the country. Just finished shaving & showering and got done in a nick of time as the water was just starting to cool off when I was there. That's a bad habit this system seems to have running out just in the middle of things.
