Saving...
Nov. 8, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: I'm afraid I've been quite neglectful of my writing the past few days but it seems as tho I've been quite busy with one thing or another. Played football again yesterday and lost another heart breaker 13-9. We were playing Fort Douglas which is rated one of the strongest teams in Utah. We made 11 first downs to their five and gained a lot more yardage than they did but we seemed to have bad breaks. Came thru it in good shape a few skinned spots and bruises but nothing that won't mend in a day or so. We play Kearns Utah on Armistice day so won't get much rest in between. Before the game a fellow who lives down town here came over to me and said he was born in Fayette. His name is Bogart and his father was instrumental in getting [U.L.U?] started or something of that sort. I believe he said the [illegible] ( Cap + Ella Sicks father in law) were his uncles. He is a Legionaire and they sponsor our games so that's how he happened to know of me I guess. Got the papers and a letter from you today but I havent read the papers yet. Also got a letter from the boy from [illegible] who was my Ass't Crew Chief but who shipped out a few days ago. He is located in the California desert, Munro
