Saving...
had recently left the outfit and are located at other bases. The lunch you put up really tasted good in fact Im piecing on the nuts and an apple which I had extra. We got to Cedar Rapids with time to spare and besides the train was late. Got a seat back in a very old car, one with gas lites, no running water and the soot and cinders poured right thru it. Boy I was a mess when I got here, dirty and wrinkled, had to change trains in the middle of the night or rather early morning at Green River Wyoming it was cold and snowing a little. it hadn't snowed here however. Sent you a wire when I got in hope you got it. Just to say I got here in time. Havent cleaned up yet had to [illegible[ out my foot locker and two barracks bags of clothes, blankets, etc. Got clean pillow case, mattress cover, make my bed hang up & put away my stuff. Find I must have left my leather gloves at home but dont need them in particular. Found a couple of stamps that looked a little unusual to me perhaps they arent tho. Guess I'll write a note to Plegg and clean up & fall into bed. Sure had a good time at home. Love Johnny
