Dec. 14, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: Just came from the mess hall had a real good dinner today, swiss steak but not like that you fixed the night Pligg was there. Rest of meal was pretty good, even had pie, apricot. Got a bunch of letters yesterday including three from you. Hadn't had any for several days so it seemed good. Glad you got things for the Hays, better get something for Dickey for me. Sorry Ernie couldn't make a decent picture once but I'm not much of a subject, I'll pay for it for you as part of your Christmas, will send a money order soon. Glad the other picture was good. Can't imagine who it was at the Bamens acquantances recognized me and is in my squadron, haven't seen any body or no one has spoken to me. Wonder if he was in my old squadron or new, had a letter from Aunt Cora
