Thursday June 1, 1944 Hello Dave; Have been receiving your Scuttlebutt? regular and enjoy it very much. It's nice to get it, and read what some of the other boys thinks of the world and some of its God-For-Saken places. I know how some of them feel.. I thought Florida was a bad place, but these Islands are worse although they may not be as bad as those in the Pacific. This place that I'm at now is a life boat station, and we have drills and instructions in how to run the life boats, [illegible] boats and other small craft.
