Camp Livingston, Louisiana Wednesday Morning June 14, 1944 Dear Dave: Doubt if you know me personally, Dave, although probably you have heard of me or know me when you see me; but I want to write you a line of thanks anyway for sending me the Scuttlebut. It was swell of Mr. Wilson to have you send it to me and thanks a lot for doing so. I really enjoy the "Scuttlebut" very much, especially the excerpts from letters which the fellows write. It helps one to keep track of where the fellows are. Just in case you might want to know what my Army career has been like so far I'll give you a brief history. I came in last Oct. 29, for active service, stayed at Camp Dodge 12 days awaiting assignment. Then
