Lt. R.W. Baker (Censor's Stamp) To Mr. Dave Elder Washington Iowa U.S.A. From 0-702194 Lt. Robert W. Baker 736 [ch?] Sq. [83?] 454th Grp AP0520 c/o Postmaster New York, N.Y. 17 June, 1944 Somewhere in Italy Dear Dave, Just received my first copy of "Scuttlebutt" and I enjoyed it very much. I hope that you continue to keep me on your mailing list. You are to be congratulated on the idea of a preparing a serviceman's paper. That news from home is just what I like to read most as all the rest of the boys do. You have a clever way of presenting it too. Charlie [Semby?] is over here in the same group with me. He is an [armor?] -gunner. If you haven't him on your list and if you have room for another, I am sure that he would enjoy receiving it too. While I have been writing it has started pouring down rain. But I guess you folks back home know all about that. It has been very dry here which I understand is in direct contrast to Iowa. Hoping to receive another "Scuttlebutt" very soon. I remain, yours truly, Wendell Baker
