June 28, 1944 Dear Dave, I have been receiving your paper now for several weeks, and have really been enjoying it. It really keeps you posted on what's happening in the old home town, and I know all the boys who have been receiving the paper must enjoy it as much as I do. I was really sorry to hear about [Hayden Hughes?] being killed tho as he lived about 3 blocks from my Home and I knew him quite well. He was really a swell fellow. Well Dave, after having had a taste of the [Tank?] [coup?], and the air [coup?], I'm now getting a taste of the medical [coup?]. I don't know how I got in this outfit but I did. I have been transferred down here to Georgia and am going to school, so that I'd better give you my change of address, you you can keep the Scuttlebutt coming.
