6/28/44 Dear Scuttlebutt, Have often intended to drop a line your way + it looks as though I'll have to save face with myself + do so. First of all, congratulations on the "poop sheet." I enjoy it + am always glad to get it. Scottie (Lloyd Scott) and I spent a couple of days together in [Fandon?] and the Sheet got [looked?] over - favorably. I've seen [Scottie?] [illegible] [illegible] . He flew up to my base in his P-47. I know he won't tell you, so I will. He got [port?] [credit?] for a FW190 not long ago. Incidentally, he was upside down when he got it. We also figured up, sat together [ect?] and decided that he had escorted some of the [bombardment?] missions I had flown. Saw Charlie [Bear?] once over here - Max [Donaldson?] once [illegible] Would like to hear how some of the boys like Bob [Berning?], who is in the Assault Engineers, are now since I.T has started. As for me, about all I do is fly up to my old [base?] and give the fellows the V [illegible].
