July 1, 1944 Hello Dave & rest- Well here it is July 1 and I am just fine and getting along well. Got two papers from you yesterday and sure enjoyed reading them. When we just got over here we seen some sight, that one never sees in a picture show. We layed out in the harbor for some time watching troops land and they were under heavy fire which you have probably all-ready read about in the papers. A person can't imagine just how many land mines were blown up at the beach. I saw some plane get shot down some dog fights and also a ship which was just behind us page I
