23 July 44 Dear Dave The training that is being poured into me is keeping me busy continuously so that I seldom have time to write. Right now Im in the middle of four weeks of [illegible] and as soon as it is over I'll have a breather when I can write a letter. I want to thank you a lot for sending me "Scuttlebutt" and it sure keeps me up with a lot of the fellows. As ever Bob [Hammel?]
