England -- July 27, 1944 Dear Friend, I have received two issues of "Scuttlebutt" this week so I will take time out right now to thank you for sending them. [illegible] that several of the fellows are [illegible] here in [illegible] E.T.O. but I have never seen anyone from home in the two years I have been in the Army. I had a letter from Dale Earll - he is in Normandy. He left with the National Guard troops. I am in the Ninth Air Force
