Prices are fairly cheap so everyone came back to the barracks loaded down with shoes, silk hose, and lots of silvery jewelry. Almost every Saturday night at least one soldier gets cut up with a long Mexican knife but we were lucky for not a member of our squadron got in a fight. Time now to bring this letter to a close.
