Mr. Dave Elder Washington Evening Journal Washington Iowa From: 0-762837 Lt. Robert E Thomas APO 16135 BJ 42 c/o Postmaster New York, N.Y. Aug. 23, 1944 Dear Dave, Well here I am again trying to write a few lines before I turn in for some sack time. I guess you know I am somewhere in England, but that's all I can tell you so enough for that. Can you send me Jerry Corris' address its pretty important, also if you run across Lloyd Scotts send me it also I would like to write him. I haven't gotten any mail as yet but expect some before to long, am sure looking forward to getting some. I guess I am like the rest of the fellows over here-- phooey on this warm beer I swear off it for good, glad I don't enjoy the taste of beer anyway. I'm telling myself. I am kept plenty busy and on my time off I find enough things to do, so I am enjoying myself. Well Dave I better sign off so if you could I sure would appreciate those two address'. Thanks a lot. Will write later. Gene Thomas
