Lt Robert E. Thomas 482nd Bomb Gp. APO 639 % Post Master New York, N.Y. Sept 4 - 1944 Somewhere in England Dear Dave, Here I am again without the slightest bit of news to write about but I'll jot down a few lines anyway. I got my first copy of the Scuttlebutt a few days ago and it was sure a most welcomed bit of news. As you can see my address has changed again and I am now with most of the old gang I went through training with in the states, so its just like old home week here. When I wrote for Jerry Carris' address I didn't know he was missing in action, but he will show up again before long I am sure. Lots of my buddies who I use to fly with have been killed in action, or are missing so you sure don't know who is next. Well have a better close so when I find some news to write about I'll drop you a few more lines. Sincerely, Gene Thomas
