India 14 Sept. 1944 Dear Dave, As you see we are now half way around the world by the time we get home again I hope to have made a complete trip around the world. Our trip so has been very interesting and have seen many famous sights & a lot of strange things. One thing the people have in this part of the world don't seem to know what a bath tub is for. At least they never seem to use them. I have never seen such filth as there is some places over here. India is quite a country every one has a special class of job he does and nothing else such as bearers, sweepers, and so on. Labor is very cheap here. They have a lot of beautiful Ivory and metal, particulary silver, work to sell. Most of it has doubled in price since the Americans have come over here. I sent Louise a silver cig. case she will probably show it to you.
