Tues Sept 19, 1944 Dear Dave, Thank you for your interest in sending to me the Scuttlebutt. I appreciate it very much. I know everybody also does as much as I. I met Capt. Boshart from Wayland. He is on his way home and may get there before this letter. He seemed in very good health. Since you are now a chicken farmer, your interest me very much. Also the Eichols have chickens. I can, when I get home, have my choice of chickens. Don't get me wrong. I'd just borrow one for the evening. I'd return the feathers, the first thing in the morning. I'm flying the new Curtis "Helldiver." It is the new model SB2C-3. The censors won't permit me to say more but some flying magazines will probably have more detail than I could ever tell.
