Saving...
United States Naval Training Center Farragut, Idaho Sunday, October 22nd [1944] Dear Dave - So many times I have thought I would write you and let you know just how I appreciate your sending me "Scuttlebutt" every week, but I really take the cake when it comes to putting off letter writing. Dave, I don't see how you do it. One only has to be at home and see how busy you and everyone else on the home front are - and then get in the service and realize that many at home are doing much more toward the war effort than many in uniform. I assure you that many in service will always have a warm spot in their hearts for you because through "Scuttlebutt" you have made possible a home contact for many - especially those in the foxholes - that would never have received new from the "old home town" at all. As I said before, along with your many other duties - I don't see how you do it. Best wishes to you and Mabel - and don't work too hard. Sincerely, Tom [T.A. Duncan S2/C]
