To: Mr. Dave Elder Washington, Iowa Oct. 24, 1944 Sender's name: Sgt Milo Steele 3rd Band Section [illegible]. 3rd Marine [illegible]RMR. 90 [street?]. San Francisco, Calif. Hi Dave, Received the Scuttlbut yesterday & was glad to get it. I'm getting so I look forward [illegible] to it, It's a fine paper so keep it rolling. I take it you ole hens must be laying ok because you weren't chipping your molars about them this time. If you follow my advice you'll have more eggs than you know what to do with. Ha. Last Sunday, we played for a Navy outfit & who in the devil do you think I ran into "Chuck" Holden. Same "Chuck" still a little, feather merchant & brown as an Indian, we didn't get to talk much so today I went down & saw him. I stayed all day & we really tore the ole town apart. He was home in Feb. 44 & since I haven't seen the ole town in over two yrs. we had plenty to talk about beside the ole times. I still think a DeSota is a Heck of a lot better than a Hudson Taraplane, but you try & tell him that. Ha. Keep the press rolling & get the paper out. Forgot to tell you I saw Francis Glider about a wk. ago. Sincerely Milo Steele
