Oct 25 - 44 Hello Dave: Well there isn't much to write about here in Germany but I just got to thinking you might be interested what kind of a news paper we get over here. That is we get it everyday we get mail. This paper hasn't much news in today but I get a kick out of the B Bag & the Editorials. I hope you don't get as many complaints as this poor fellow gets but he has guts & comes right back at them. I wish you could have read the Editorial on "We wanna go home", then you could understand what the boys are talking about. And about Hubert theres more truth to it than you'd think. That is at first after awhile you don't mind being shelled. Don't get the idea that we like being shelled because we don't. Everything is quiet tonight we're dug in & have made us some stoves because its cold outside. The boys are making bets on when its going to snow. Well so long for this time maybe I can do better next time. I get the Skuttle Butt regular every week & I have about five other boys from Iowa in the same Btry who also read it. Your friend Jesse C Jones [S/Sgt. Jesse C. Jones]
