To: Mr. Dave Elder Washington, Iowa Sender: [Sgt.] Milo W. Steele, Jr. [W??] 3rd Band Section [D??H??] 3rd Marine Dis FmF % Fleet P. O. San Francisco, Calif. Oct. 28, 1944 Hi Dave, Received the 30th drip today & was glad to get it. You mentioned about squirrel hunting. Well how goes the duck & pheasant hunting. Next time you see Martin H_____ or any of the ole boys who do any hunting asked them how the hunting is down at the marsh. Sure would love to take in a little bit of bird hunting. The kind that fly high, period!! Say Dave are you really serious about K & C rations or were you just trying to be humerous. Boy you must really have a great imagination. I'll let you in on the scoop & I imagine plenty of the rest of the guys will also. I don't like them, I'm tired of them & unless your awful awful hungry I'll assure you you won't either. If you do like them you could save the Mrs. alot of cooking by just opening up a can of rations three times a day. Hope some one sees that you get some & then you'll [illegible] [illegible] I mean. Sincerely, [illegible]
