battalion. I’m now in the 416 Ord. Evacuation Co., 212 Ord. Bn. Last week we got in more men that brought us up to 200 E.M. but there are only 2 officers where there should be 6. You are probably wondering what an evacuation company does. Its primary mission is to retrieve tanks that have been knocked out or disabled. We have a lot of heavy equipment for this work which you might well imagine is necessary. Let me know how you come out on the rations. As ever Hammer [2nd Lt. R. O. Hammer]
