Nov 2, 1944 Italy Mr. Elder, I am very happy to receive the Scuttlebutt News. I enjoy reading it very much. I sure enjoy reading about where all of the boys are located and there experiences. A lot of them are in France & England. It will sure be a great day when we are all together again. The weather here is plenty rugged. What with rain and mud. I have lived on the farm all my life but never have I seen mud like this. It can't last forever. How is everything in Washington? Do you receive many letters from boys overseas? I know it is very hard for me to write. Sometimes I can't even find time to write to my wife and Son &
