Saving...
Nov., 12, 44. Hi Dave: Just a note about an add I would like to have run in the journal for the Christmas holiday. I would like to have it arranged about like I have it on this paper if it is possible. I would like to have it about 3 columns wide & ten or twelve inches high. You make it so it looks right, about the wording you may have to change it so it sounds better, but you can get the idea of what I want to put over. Maybe it would be nice to put in something about the farmers morale support & help towards the men in the armed forces which means so much to us. The main idea is to wish them a merry Xmas & so on & to thank them for there past business with hopes of being able to serve them better in the future. Here is the name of the boys that are working for me now at the Produce, Martin Telford. Mgr., Merle Walker, Albert Powers, you can go over & see if Martin has hired any one else. The boys from the produce who have entered the armed forces. Harold Haifley, Dick Dawson, Rex Bain, Max Haifley & myself. If you think it would make a better add with our names in it you arrange it so it looks O.K., then make a copy of it & air mail it to me for my opinion of it & then I'll return it with my corrections if any, in plenty of time for you to get it ready. I know this is a lot of bother, but it is the only way I know how to do it. Thanks a lot. I was over to another marine camp the other day & Sodie Sowash & I went to see Joe Simmering, who is in the hospital but he is getting along O.K. & looks good. Here's hoping everything around the old town is O.K. As Ever Dick P.F.C. Richard L. Powers H.Q. Co 6th Base Depot F.M.F. =(PAC) U.S.M.C. c/o F.P.O. San Fran. Calif.
