Saving...
Well Pap I will write a few lines in (illegible) letter to let you know that I am well as ever. We Rec'd our pay today $26 & as it is the safest way to send it off as soon as possible we have put it in the express chest for transportation it will come to Eddyville where you can get it perhaps it will not leave here for sometime yet as they follow the paymaster from one Regt to another So you had better drop a few lines to the express office & let them know where you live or tell him to drop you a few lines when it comes. It may save you trouble in going to Eddyville before it comes. We sent you 40 dollars there was seven of us sent together D. Neuman, HB Lemore? P.H. Parker, W. H.Carlisle, P.H. Wyman and me and Ned you will have to pay the Express fee at the office When you receive it let us know as soon as possible. So I will close. Yours truly, P.H. Marks M M Marks
