Saving...
February 27, 1944 Dear Dad & Mom: Another day has gone by and the month will soon be ended. Will get paid very soon which is always a happy event, of course I'll have to work more for my February salary this year than last or the year before as it is leap year but I reckon Ill make it. Dont hardly believe I'll have any proposals for marriage either. Just had to stop long enough to shake up the stove a little. Im afraid Im catching another head cold, my nose is running and my head filled up. Dont feel so bad just kind of ornery think Ill be okay in a day or so. Went to the matinee this afternoon saw Ginger Rogers in "Tender Companion" or something like that, only fair but entertainment. Read the Sunday Papers at least as far as the funnies. Got your letter today saying you'd been to the big party. Ill bet it was a wild one with Graydon there but glad if you had a good time. Do hope the weather back there warms up pretty soon. Not a darn thing to write so Ill sign off. Love Johnny
