Saving...
has quite a nice place there, so I might look it up. Think I'll go in soon. Meant to send some money home yesterday but missed the officer who takes care of that. The army has a set up where they send money home free of charge. I can deposit money at the base with an officer get a receipt and a copy go this goes to Washington , when they get it the [illegible] will send it on home. Expect to get my this months pay early next month so will do it then. Isn't very much anyhow with the allotment out. Wanted to send you a wire tomorrow but can't do it from this base. Hope you have a very happy birthday Mother, buy a new hat or something on me, as I have nothing to send you. Please do this and tell me what you got, I can send my love from here and that I do. Must write some more letters while I have time so I will close. Love Johnny
