I will never forget the first morning on the ship "New Year" I got up famished we have a plate full of bake beans for breakfast, the first meal of the New Year. "Pretty good start" I thought. Burma now. I spect you have been getting a lot news about this place. Well they got the "Ledo" road open now an boy that really a sight to see I have sure been seeing some sights too, some not very good to even talk about. I see by the Scuttlebutt that a lot of boys have been killed or wounded in action. I really do hate it because those fellows are really having a tough time. But I guess it just about as bad here as every other front. Well I don't know a whole
