Holland 25. Feb. 1945 Dear Dave; I received the Feb. 16 - Drip 47 tonite which is the latest news from home & reached me in record time. Now that I'm finally assigned I hope my mail continues to come thru so quickly and that I begin getting lots of letters from my friends. Dave, I'm with a swell outfit, just as you told my wife, of course it isn't quite as peaceful as I write my wife & family but its just as well that they never know until I get back home, which I believe will be possible some day. Around last Dec. 17th I wasn't very sure what would happen next. We were beginning to believe the Russians were driving the Germans through us. My wife writes that Tommy Walker was in Malmedy about the time that I must have been there. Sure would like to have seen him or anyone from home. My work now is that of Orientation non com. for the group. Or assistant to the Education and Orientation officer. Part of his job is to publish a weekly news sheet for the headquarters battery. Naturally in order to make it interesting to the fellows much of it has to be burlesque. If you have any jokes or ideas for gags will you share them with me? Sure appreciate it.
