Saving...
Certainly glad to read Matt Redlingers article on the infantry & now that I'm not a member of it any more I can say that the infantry is the outfit that is winning the war and every fellow that is up on the front enduring rain, snow & all the physical discomforts along with the immediate danger from enemy action, mines etc is a real hero & should be at the head of the parade when we get back. They deserve everything because they're giving everything, they have that "doughboy" as my hero! Of course, all of us cheer when the airforce is out and we know that they did a swell job in stopping the German Offensive. Or rather helping to stop it. Every part of the Army is dependent upon each other. But the infantry leads a [illegible] life and seldom gets much credit or publicity for his heroic deeds. Thanks to all of you for your efforts in preparing and sending "Scuttlebutt." Sincerely yours Boyd [Pfc. B.E. White] P.S. Tell the fellows at [illegible] men Hills & Best Wishes. I really miss those Tues nites & the bridge parties. Wish you could include more news of the club in "Scuttlebutt." Let's advertise the club a little.
