Saving...
With 3rd U.S. Army In Germany Feb. 28, 45 Dear Dave Elder I just received your 47th drip and I have some time this evening so thought I would drop you a line. I have been receiving the Scuttlebutt for some time and I sure do enjoy reading it, of course I am not too well acquainted around Washington but I do know several of the fellows that have written and I sure did enjoy there letters. We had a treat tonight for supper we had ice cream and boy it sure was good. We had some about a month ago too. We also had breaded pork chops they sure do taste better than K rations they sure do get old. I was lucky at Christmas and New Years we were on a brake then and we had turkey for both dinners that was the best brake we had had since we landed in France on June [illegible] soon after New Years we didn't have it so easy for then they pulled us up here in this sector and boy it sure was cold for a couple of weeks I was glad to see it warm up and when it did the snow sure disappear in a hurry when it did warm up and of course then it was pretty muddy. I want to thank you again for Scuttlebutts I sure do enjoy reading them to find out what the other fellows are doing in other parts of the world. Sincerely [s/sgt] Louis W. Larsen.
