[letterhead: American Red Cross] [in different handwriting from letter: March 14, 1945] 1st repeat drip Somewhere in France Another month---March 14, 1945 Hello Dave (you rascal) The war would have gone on with out you, (I suppose) but you and your "scuttlebut" with all its drips, which sometimes turn to drizzles, has helped my morale out one heck of a lot, and I give you my vote of appreciation! Thank you. It's so darn nice to hear about the Home town boys when you're away and can't write them all yourself. As you know my allergy to loud noises such as gun shots and the like, have kept me away from combat, but I have a zealous zeal for to be shooting people with long shiny needles, so my ambitions in life have been made! France has everything but I haven't found any of it yet. [printed: Form 539 A]
