Mar. 17, 1945 I Dear Mr. Butt, I hit the jackpot. 5 drips this week. Nos. 37, 38, 45, 46, & 48. A swell morale booster. So since you have done me more than justice I will exert myself to the point of colapsing & let you in on a secret. "I wanta go home"! Hah! There isn't any excitement at all over here. Paris is just as dead as ever! Am I kidding! No women or drinks to be found anywhere. It is a hard life and the sun shines constantly. Hah! I bet I could win first prize in any liars club with a line like that. No kidding. I'm living the life of a king. Of course I'm not used to that type of life but I am slowly trudging along & making the best of the situation. Boy what a situation! Tell Bill Arnold he can stop
