II Tom Moore all write to me. So you can see I am keeping up with the war all along the front. Right at the present I am working on a transfer back to England. Can't give my reason in public. Strictly a military secret. You'll have to pardon me if I spell some words in French. I'm studying the language. Making very little headway, but the words & phrases I do know, I know by heart and often catch some new G.I. looking at me in deep question, when I'm talking to him. That is how I know I've said something he doesn't compree. This letter doesn't make much sense so I'll ring off for now. As ever, Luckey [in different handwriting: [Pvt. Robert L. Clark] ] Tell the staff, their doing great job and believe me you're included.
