Sept 21 - 1918 Mrs Francis Whitley Webster City Ia Dear Mrs. Whitley It has reached Sunday morning but I just must get a letter or two off. [illegible] hop to get to des Moines for the big meeting. We are dreadfully rushed with the [Nog?] survey and the deputies husband selling out business to answer the call throws heavier work upon my shoulders as she is pretty nervous and upset at this time. We had to get a new ch. of child welfare Mrs. James Kegley, Wyoming, Ia. We shall need to get her plenty of help. I find that I must retain the office of Co. Supt. for a longer period as my successor is still too ill to take up the work so my hands are somewhat tied as yet. The nine applicants for nurses has simmered down to six who really should be accepted. We have so many in training that
