Mrs. Eugene Henely, Grinnell Iowa. Grinnell, Iowa. 7-13-18 My dear Comrade - One of the [snorers?] salutes you! So you were wise and tarried not to hear my talk at Independence - I was glad you did not need to listen to it- but sorry not to see you again. I have been busy with Council of Defense business as well as my Home Service Talks for the Red Cross. Tuesday I went by auto over a part of the county and saw personally a number of township chairmen. - I have been writing to others but hope to see them also as Mr. Henely can drive me to their homes when he returns from a business trip of a few days duration. I had to release Mrs. E.H. Spaulding as chairman here as she is under
