My dear Mrs. Whitley Your letter today made me feel more " conscience stricken" than ever. Mrs. Metcalf was Co. Chairman of C.N.D. last summer and fall and when she went to Cal. for the winter I took her work until her return the first of May.I was able to do all that I was asked to do at that time and was very much interested in the work. Mrs. Metcalf returned early in May, but could not take up the work again. I could not keep it as my home duties increased and I could not be away from home to organize for Child Welfare. Mrs. Metcalf and I resigned when Mrs. Cory was here for the Dist. Conf. Another Co.Chairman has not been found and the work is not being done. I am doing all that I can for
