Saving...
Demonstrators have held meetings all over our county and they presented cards which were signed and their names must be on the list at Anne[']s. We meet so much ignorance and indifference as to the importance of this question. Many of the thinking women who sign the cards protest that the government is prostituting the acres and acres of land to raise tobacco which had better be put in wheat or cotton or some other useful product. And then then thousands and thousands of bushels of grain and barrels of fruit juices are made wasted. But we temperance women have learned that it is a long road to attain great ends. And we patiently work on for the highest and best things biding our time for the final triumph over evil habits and cruel waste[.] Your sincere coworker, Mrs. Elvie N. Logsdon
