they leave here tomorrow. Since the Fight at Vicksburg We have had all kinds of news, but not untill yesturday we had news that we could rely on. The White Cloud came up yesturday with 800 Wounded. It is stated that our loss is upward of 2000. Our forces from below failed to come to time, which made it a purfic slaughter on those that went down. although I would like to have the Honor of being one of the number that would help take Vicksburg. Though I was unwell I did not go, so I am glad to learn that they 25th was not in the engagement. Our forces fell back. The 25th We learn is at Napolion. I do not know when I shall go to the Reg. yet I will try and content my self where ever I may be, as lond as the War lasts. I believe it will last a great over
