sooner. Enclosed is twenty-three dollars which you will place to my credit. This regiment has drawed, over and above the allowance of clothing from Government, twenty-one dollars in the same, which was deducted from our pay on last "pay-day". This is a "good" way to pay troops off, but not very pleasant to be compelled to receive "botch-work" clothing that we do not want, and have to pay for them.
