On Board the SunShine Bound for Vicksburg Feb 11th 1863 Dear Pa & Ma= having a few spare moments to write I improve the time so you may hear from me. We left the Convalesant Camp yesterday, and failed geting on the Boat. We had to take quarters, in old buildings in town, and make the best of it we could, till we could get on the boat. the boat has just come, so we will soon start for Vicksburg. We all seem in good spirits, judging from the apearance of the boys, and I for myself do. I would like to see George before I go, but cannot. I was out, and spent last Saturday & Sunday with him. He is well I must close to get this off before the boat leaves. I will write more at length the next time. Give my love to all and write soon to Your affectionate Son Howell
