[Dec. 5, 1943] Sunday afternoon Dear Mother, I found my name tapes so am sewing them in my new things, turning up hems, etc. We haven't gone out for dinner yet, but probably will soon. I've repacked my locker several times, as it seems to settle & hold more. You'd be amazed at the things added, as I thought it was as full as possible when I started. The pear tree [illegible] have been lovely; I first came upon the leaves in the seed box. Love, Helen P.S. We're living the life of debutantes. One of the staff said "Enjoy it while you can!"
