surprised if my unit went on later to my old stamping grounds. I don't believe Helen Crum went to the Pacific because she was issued a winter uniform. Maybe I'll meet her. No, I don't think you fell down. What would we have with more money that we don't have now? and could you have more friends or more influence with them if you were Edna? (Julia wishes she had a daughter, too) I'll remember the Kleenex & doughnut girl--either would be nice to have. The main reason I turned down New Caledonia was that I knew you'd hate it. I'm looking forward to the mystery books. I have some for you, too & will put them in the two suitcases to send home. I don't think there will be a lot in there. I don't believe I'll take the plaid, as it shows dirt a lot. I may take the grey wool and won't need the Peck & Peck because of the new jersey's. No pun intended! No letter have been missing in the sequence. I'll be glad to hear that mine about Mary Bess, Don's phone call & this one have [note in margin: Note: Did meet her in England at 91st when she had to & I came back from France.]
