Saving...
Yes, after that long of fumbling around in the night a person becomes quite handy with the feet and hands. Of course it took a little experience of stepping and falling in fox holes three quarters full of water. It came to us the hard way but now it happens very seldom. After all of our night experiences and practice the girls back home had better be aware while out with an exservicemen. Please don't give them the warning. Dave, we servicemen will probably trick them the hard way, haha. I hope this letter finds you in the best of health. No doubt you are quite busy putting the evening paper out. Of course, there is a few headaches involved. As for me I'm feeling just fine. As for being busy we certainly are. We have had one rest, rather the Army's so-called rest. No doubt you have read about them. This rest includes Revaltee Retreat, hikes, calthecentics, etc. Of course it's a change from combat duty. But it's not the kind of rest a soldier prefers. Well Dave I guess I had better close for this trip. But first I want to wish you and the Scuttlebutt staff a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Your friend, Eddie [Pfc. Edward J. Prebyl jr.]
