Mr Dave Elder Washington Journal Washington, Iowa Sgt. Milo W. Steele [illegible] 3rd Band Section [illegible] 3rd Marine {illegible] c/o Fleet P.O. San Francisco, Calif. Jan 6, 1945 Hi Dave, Recieved the Scuttlebutt yesterday. Drip No. 39. I sure get a bang out of it & have been recieving it regularly. I haven't written for some time because I've been darn busy. I repair all instruments in the band besides playing & either one of the jobs are almost enough, but I like both so I don't beat my gums about it. We had a fine Xmas chow & a good new yrs. Of course no wine & women, but did have a little brew so some of the guys had a fine time. Me I was sober as a Judge. Glad to hear that Francis Haney is doing O.K. He's about right in his way of thinking. Haven't seen Chuck Holden, in the past month, but expect to see him next wk. sometime. Was down to see "papie" young couple nites ago, but he wasn't around so made a trip for nothing. Might see him at some later date. Guess I'll sign off. Thanks again for the Scuttlebutt. Most cordially yours. Milo Steele
