Saving...
Neth. E. Indies Jan 16th [1945] Hi Dave, I received three drips in the last two days. The thirty eight, forty and forty first. This cock-eyed place is lifeless anymore. Things have moved on up and the brass and [fems?] have started to come in. I hope we pull stakes soon. It's the doing nothing, that gets a guy. I've seen some good pictures had some boxing bouts last night. It reminded me when dad use to have his fighter. The main topic of all bull sessions is Rotation, and women running a close second, naturally. The QM has given in now, we have vienna sausage, now and then to suplement the corn [willie?] Those cooks are going to be the death of me yet.
