Saving...
2 another feast (ending with wine & peanuts) then visited awhile and saw their lovely flower prints, played with cats & squirrel & came home about 4:30. Wasn't that a good start for a New Year? I wonder if Edna didn't get the card I wrote her from Massachussetts. I wrote it very shortly after I got her note. I'll write Issy as soon as I can. Wasn't that just like her? Why didn't she come as she planned? I had a letter from Harriet. She said they all had flu, including Mrs. C. I'm so glad I didn't try to go to Pittsburgh. I was tempted when I found I couldn't get home. I'll try to keep my punctuation straight & you can just scrape any fly specks off! It wasn't surprising that I looked a little tired in my picture. I had it taken the day I got back & in the previous twelve hours I had gone through seven states & the D. of C. Did the other two pictures get there? They were sent at the same time. I put them in two containers because they were too thick for one. I think that is true about Bertha & Mrs. Hunter, all right. Blanche was furious about Mrs. Hunter & seemed to feel she had "used" Doe. I don't know whether the idea originated with Bertha or Blanche. Harriet's little packages were a powder mitt (Matchabellis Potpourri, which I love) and a pound of almond toffee which was swell. It was like that we make, but finished up with its coating of milk chocolate & coated with pecans.
