Saving...
3 I'm sorry to hear the Ensign cottage is gone. We had lots of fun in it, didn't we? I wonder who ever got that sail boat I left. How too bad about Mildred's dog. I wonder if some other kind wouldn't be better. Their house seemed quite warm & quite "gassy" to me; I wonder if that has anything to do with the trouble? Uncle George should have gotten my card. I wrote him, too, from Mass. What goes on here, anyway? Did I drop them in the incinerator chute by mistake? Isn't that just like Letha to have a job. She's the peppiest mortal. I'm surprised that Sarah isn't a riveter, or something like that. It's a grey, rainy day. There was a powdering of snow still on the ground in Bethesda from the Christmas Eve sleet & snow, but it was all gone here by the next morning. Still no news of going, & I'm getting impatient. My sub-advance of $200 is all paid off now & from now on they are owing me money for my food. That's really eating your cake & having it! Love, Helen
