2 plan to send to past graduates who had left B. R. T. to go to positions. Then there was a quiet games party in the lounge of the dormitory, where games were presented which could be used in hospitals. Then there was a luncheon with a planned program. Finally there was a big evening party to which seventy-five service men were invited. Decorations, food, and all had to be bought out of twenty-five dollars. We thought we did very well when we made it for twenty-two. Incidentally, I was Chairman of the refreshment committee. We finished Basic Recreation and then went back for our last week of orientation. I had thought it would be stale after all the activity, but found it very practical. Instead of being all together, or just divided into overseas or domestic, as we were in the first week, the groups were made much smaller. The Club girls went their own way and even in the Hospital group we had many separate sessions for Recreation Workers, Social Workers and Secretaries. We were given many suggestions about things to do in hospital wards and recreation halls, what channel to work through in dealing with the military, how to conduct a library if we should be stranded with one and many other things. We finished our classes on Saturday and were told our domestic assignments at noon. For the most part, we were to leave Sunday or Monday, reporting to work Tuesday morning.
